TIMINGS: The class will run in person on Saturday 18th July from 10:00 - 16:00 at Winchester Quaker Meeting House

Learn how to stitch the traditional cherry blossom motif with twisted silk and metal threads. We will twist the threads ourselves and stitch them using the vertical layer technique. We will also cover a stamen technique and the kit will include beads for the pollen. I will also cover options for stitched pollen using straight stitches  or Japanese knots. 

The silk fabric will be premounted on a frame which the student will take away with them. The tutor will bring clamps to fix the frame to the table or it can be placed in a Lowery Frame but not a seat frame due to the technique.

The tutor will bring additional silk thread for purchase if anyone wants to add colours for another cherry blossom or for the stitched pollen.  There will also be optional mounting kits for £15.

The cost of the kit will be paid to the tutor on the day and is estimated to be £25 (This includes the silk fabric pre-mounted on a square embroidery frame, 1 reel of flat silk, metal threads, and needles.)  Payment can be  cash, online transfer or paypal.
