This design is inspired by a pair of beautiful tabbed gauntlet gloves from the early 1600s. The Dog Rose is worked in beautiful silk floss threads using long and short, satin, laid work and French knots, before adding couched goldwork details and spangles. The design is a companion piece to the Silk Pansy which is taken from the same gloves. 

Experience level - intermediate/advanced

6” or 8" hoop.

 

Embroidery scissors

 

Goldwork scissors (separate to embroidery scissors for cutting metallic threads)

 

Laying tool like a mellor

 

Velvet board

The cost of the kit will be approximately £48 plus £4.50 P&P (UK). The kits will come directly from Kate and can be paid for through a PayPal link or bank transfer. We can send these details out once people have booked.
