May with Sue Kim - Stumpwork Radish

TIMINGS: The class will run in person on Saturday 16th May from 10:00 - 16:00 at Winchester Quaker Meeting House.

This charming Stumpwork piece is inspired by Beatrix Potter's Peter Rabbit and features a three-dimensional representation of Peter Rabbit’s favourite vegetable: the radish.
Students will learn how to use felt to create a three-dimensional figure and apply Needlelace with shading, as well as how to use wire to make three-dimensional leaves.
You’ll have time to make a delightful fruit on a warm, striped background fabric. The class would be suitable for a beginner.

Stitches used are Stem Stitch, Couching, Buttonhole Stitch, Heavychain Stitch, Back Stitch, Corded Brussels Stitch.

List of equipment the students will need:

Two embroidery hoops - one 6 inch and one 8 inch 

Scissors

PVA glue (this may be provided by adminstrator)
