This pattern is a round ended chrysanthemum, which is a motif stitched in many of the classical embroidery patterns. It is only 4.5 cms wide as Japanese embroidery is very fine. The sample is worked in a variegated thread, but there will be a choice of colours available to work with on the day. List of equipment the students will need to bring with them. Embroidery hoop with stand (hands free) no more than 8” also must be bound on both rings. Scissors for use with metal (an old pair will be fine). Magnifying glass if needed. Also see the EQUIPMENT NEEDED section on the Information page. The cost of the kit will be paid to the tutor on the day, and is estimated to be £10.
